Coulee District is comprised of three garden clubs with memberships ranging from 7 to 24 members each, with a total of 50 members. All of the clubs have ongoing community gardening beautification projects, as well as new potential projects within their communities.

The Monarch Conservation Science Partnership is a USGS led group of scientists, managers, and conservation organizations who perform science related to the conservation of monarch butterflies.

The Madison District’s garden clubs are located primarily in Dane County, but the district covers much of Southern Wisconsin. We certainly welcome any existing clubs in our area to join with us.

Located in the east central portion of the state, the Fox River Valley District is composed of agricultural land, rivers and lakes. Because of the many rivers and lakes and several larger cities, tourism is a major industry within the district.

The Sheboygan District is located on Wisconsin’s east coast and consists of Calumet, Door, Kewaunee, Manitowoc, and Sheboygan counties.

Who We Are The Urban Ecology Center is a neighborhood-based, environmental education, nonprofit community center. Our “outdoor laboratories,” located in two urban parks, include 15 acres of wooded land and riparian habitat on the east bank of the Milwaukee River, an imaginative, habitat-themed playground, and a lagoon.

We are a not-for-profit educational organization focused on promoting and sharing the love of gardening. In addition to horticulture and landscapes, we offer educational opportunities to learn about floral design through our classes taught by experts in their fields.

The St. Croix District is comprised of three garden clubs: Botany Belles and Beaus, Baldwin; Lake Wissota, Chippewa Falls; and Willow River (previously known as Green Thumbelinas), New Richmond.

Monarch Health is a citizen science project in which volunteers sample wild monarch butterflies to help track the spread of a protozoan parasite across North America.

Formed in 1993, the North American Butterfly Association (NABA), a not-for-profit membership organization, is the major North American organization promoting conservation of butterflies and their habitat.

Learn, Participate, Conserve has been the foundation of Naturedigger since we started our journey in 2012. Our mission has always been to educate the public, then engage them in scientific research and data collection.

You can begin to see monarchs cluster in Central Coast overwintering sites beginning in November. The monarch population peaks in size at the end of November to early December.
