The Missouri Native Plant Society (MONPS) was founded in 1979 as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization devoted to the enjoyment, preservation, conservation, restoration, and study of the flora native to Missouri.

The Kansas City Chapter of the Missouri Native Plant Society welcomes members and non-members alike to participate in our Chapter activities.

The Hawthorn Chapter of the Missouri Native Plant Society (MONPS) is made up of individuals from Columbia and the surrounding region with various levels of expertise and interest in native plants who appreciate and want to conserve our natural Missouri heritage.

The Southwest Chapter of the Missouri Native Plant Society is based in Springfield. Chapter meetings are held the fourth Tuesday of each month except November, December, and January at the Springfield – Greene County Botanical Center.

Paradoxa Chapter is based in Rolla. Our name refers to Echinacea paradoxa (Yellow Coneflower), the only member of the “purple coneflower” genus with yellow ray flowers, endemic to the Ozarks.

On February 26th, Cal Maginel, Natural History Biologist with the Missouri Department of Conservation, St. Louis Regional Office gave a presentation on conclusions drawn from several studies on the effects of long-term fire management in the Missouri Ozarks.

The Ozark Chapter of the Missouri Native Plant Society meets on the third Tuesday of each month (except December and January). We welcome members and non-members of all ages and abilities.

The Perennis chapter is a small, but growing, chapter of the Missouri Native Plant Society based in Southeast Missouri. Plant enthusiasts of this region are lucky to have several botanically interesting and unique public lands not too far from home.

Wild Ones: Native Plants, Natural Landscapes promotes environmentally sound landscaping practices to preserve biodiversity through the preservation, restoration and establishment of native plant communities.
