Wild Ones

Wild Ones: Native Plants, Natural Landscapes promotes environmentally sound landscaping practices to preserve biodiversity through the preservation, restoration and establishment of native plant communities. Wild Ones is a national not-for-profit environmental education and advocacy organization with chapters throughout the United States.

Our headquarters is located in Neenah, Wisconsin on Little Lake Butte des Morts which is part of the Fox River waterway and the Great Lakes watershed.  Our site is landscaped with native plants and natural landscaping and encompasses 12.5 acres of upland, riparian forest and marsh.  We have four raingardens, an oak savanna/mesic prairie, a meditation garden, a turtle nesting area and walking paths throughout the site.  Visitors are welcome.

We also have a Seeds for Education grant program which makes starter funding available to non-profits developing outdoor learning centers.  Funds are to be used for native seeds and plants only.  Applications are due each October 15th.

Our Wild for Monarchs program is widely known and educational materials are available to all just for the asking.  We are a collection point for donated native milkweed seed to be used to develop habitat for monarch butterflies.
