A Prescribed Burn Association is a group of landowners/managers and other interested persons that form a partnership to organize and conduct prescribed burns.

Nathan Brunner of Tampa is all business when it comes to providing controlled burns for landowners. He and his uncle, Leonard Jirak of Hartford, are operators of Fire 4 Hire, an official contractor with the Kansas Forestry Service and the Natural Resources and Conservation Service.

Jason Hartman is the State Forester stationed in the State Office in Manhattan. The State Forester oversees, supports and encourages a wide variety of resource management, conservation, and wildland fire management activities of the agencies employees across the state.

Our Mission: To promote greater understanding of the safe, legal, and responsible use of prescribed fire as a natural resource management tool.

The Kansas Prescribed Fire Council was established in September 2008 to protect private landowner rights and public land manager options to responsibly use prescribed fire as a grassland natural resource management tool.

Adam has over 14 years of professional experience in managing land, wildlife and cattle. He has a bachelor’s degree in rangeland management and a master’s degree in wildlife management.

Chloeta is capable of providing a variety of skilled and experienced incident management personnel and quality apparatus for wildland fire preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery for a variety of public and private sector clients.
