Colorado Department of Agriculture
The mission of the Department of Agriculture is to strengthen and advance Colorado agriculture; promote a safe and high-quality food supply; protect consumers; and foster responsible stewardship of the environment and natural resources.
Colorado Grassland Reserve Program
CRP is a land conservation program administered by the Farm Service Agency (FSA). In exchange for a yearly rental payment, farmers enrolled in the program agree to remove environmentally sensitive land from agricultural production and plant species that will improve environmental health and quality.
Colorado Wildlife Habitat Program
The Colorado Wildlife Habitat Program (CWHP) offers funding opportunities for landowners who wish to voluntarily protect important wildlife habitat, provide wildlife-related recreational access to the public, and, if appropriate, sell their property to CPW.
Endangered Species Mitigation Fund
Utah's Endangered Species Mitigation Fund — now managed within the Division of Wildlife Resources — has a mission to protect Utah's plant and animal species of greatest conservation need, as well as species recognized as threatened or endangered under the Endangered Species Act of 1973.
Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program in Utah
Utah Partners for Fish and Wildlife works with local watershed teams and working groups to set priorities for focus areas. A watershed based management system has been adopted in numerous areas throughout Utah.

The Grassland Species Plan
In June 2002, Colorado Division of Wildlife Director, Russell George, appointed a working group charged with developing a draft of a grassland species conservation plan for black-tailed prairie dog and associated species including mountain plover, burrowing owl, ferruginous hawk, and swift fox.
Utah Conservation Stewardship Program
The Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) is a voluntary conservation program that encourages producers to address resource concerns in a comprehensive manner by undertaking additional conservation activities and improving, maintaining, and managing existing conservation activities.
Utah Environmental Quality Incentives Program
From weather to pests, each American farmer faces a unique set of challenges. The Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) provides financial and technical assistance to agricultural and forestry producers to address natural resource concerns and deliver environmental benefits such as improved water and air quality, conserved ground and surface water, reduced soil erosion and sedimentation, and improved or created wildlife habitat.
Utah Grazing Improvement Program (UGIP)
The Utah Grazing Improvement Program seeks to improve the productivity, health, and sustainability of our rangelands and watersheds. It’s believed that well planned and managed livestock grazing is the most important landscape-scale tool for maintaining healthy rangelands, watersheds, and wildlife habitats.
