Colorado Grassland Reserve ProgramUpdated:09/2015

The Agricultural Act of 2014 established the Agricultural Conservation Easement Program (ACEP).

It repealed FRPP, GRP, and WRP but did not affect the validity or terms of any FRPP, GRP, or WRP contract, agreement or easement entered into prior to the date of enactment on February 7, 2014 or any associated payments required to be made in connection with an existing FRPP, GRP, or WRP contract, agreement or easement.

The Grassland Reserve Program (GRP) was a voluntary program offering landowners the opportunity to protect, restore, and enhance grasslands on their property. The program emphasizes support for working grazing operations, enhancement of plant and animal biodiversity, and protection of grasslands that are under threat of conversion to cropping, urban development and other activities. This program was discontinued, but interested applicants can apply for similar funding through the ACEP.
