Jackson County Land Conservation Department

The Land Conservation Department (LCD) is a county department that implements and administers County and State of Wisconsin Soil and Water Conservation Programs. 

The LCD provides information and assistance to the public in the development of soil and water conservation plans.  Technical assistance to help landowners prevent and control soil erosion and manure runoff is provided by the Department.  There are many Best Management Practices (BMPs) that the LCD recommends and designs to help conserve our soil and water resources.

The LCD administers many programs that include:

  • Farmland Preservation,
  • Wildlife Damage Abatement and Claims, and
  • the Land and Water Resource Management Program.
