Originally our website was all about a native plant nursery, Wallace W Hansen Northwest Native Plants. But in 2011, all that changed when the nursery closed its doors for good.

It is important to plant native plants in your garden or for your landscape projects because native plants are disappearing due to urbanization, cultivation, road construction, herbicides, and invasive alien plant species.

Sevenoaks Native Nursery was started in 1978 near Albany, Oregon by Ron and Barbara Cameron. The Cameron’s first bareroot nursery crop was aspen, and as the years passed they added a variety of other plants, many native to the Pacific Northwest.

Situated on 50 acres of rich Wilamette Valley soil. Aurora Nursery is a grower of Northwest natives and wetland plants. We are a member of the Oregon Association of Nurseries.

The Victory Seed Company is a small, family owned and operated organization that works to preserve plant varieties by locating, growing, documenting and offering rare, open-pollinated, non-GMO, non-hybrid, heirloom seeds to home gardeners.

The Monarch caterpillar eats the leaves of milkweed species (above left), whose poison doesn't kill the larvae, but makes the adult toxic to predators! Many flowers bred for their showy blooms do so at the expense of nectar production, while native flowers provide for the butterflies with greater sources of nectar.
