Mission Statement: Malheur County is committed to reducing the risk of large wildfires in wildland-urban interface areas with collaborative planning, restoration of fire adapted ecosystems, and prevention education that involves citizens, landowners, structural fire agencies, and local, state, and federal agencies of Malheur County.

The Community Wildfire Protection Plan, CWPP, provides details on the risks, hazards, and valuable facilities to protect in case of a wildfire.

Fire prevention and protection planning is paramount to sustain our lives, our property and the health of our rural economy. Grant County has been given an unprecedented opportunity to participate in community based forest planning and vegetation treatment project prioritization with the enactment of the federal Healthy Forest Restoration Act (HFRA) of 2003.

The Community Wildfire Protection Plan for Union County is the result of analyses, professional cooperation, collaboration and wildfire risk assessments considered with the intent to reduce the potential for wildfires that threaten people, structures, infrastructure, and values in Union County.

Lake County, the Town of Lakeview, and the City of Paisley are collaborating with the Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development (DLCD) to update the Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan (NHMP).

The purpose of this Community Wildfire Protection Plan is to establish prioritized recommendations that protect at-risk communities within the Bly Rural Fire Protection District, their citizens, homes and essential infrastructure and resources from the destruction of catastrophic wildfire.

The Upper Deschutes River Coalition Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) was revised and approved in February 2007. As directed by that CWPP, substantial fuels reduction, fire prevention and fire preparedness activities have been completed on public and private lands.

In the aftermath of the Skeleton Fire that destroyed 19 homes and 17,000 acres in Bend in the summer of 1996, a representative from Safeco Insurance called Bend’s Fire Marshal, Gary Marshall, offering to contribute to the purchase of new firefighting equipment.

The UDRC was created to enable communities and neighborhoods along the Upper Deschutes River to work together to resolve natural resource issues in this sensitive, fire-prone area.

The Walker Range Fire Protection District Community Fire Plan in North Klamath County is a partnership between local, state and federal agencies, community organizations and individuals.

The purpose of this Community Wildfire Protection Plan is to establish priorities and recommendations that provide for a greater level of protection for the at-risk neighborhoods within the Rocky Point community, its citizens, homes, and essential infrastructure and resources from the destruction of catastrophic wildfire within the wildland-urban interface.

The KCWPP has been developed to meet the intent of the National Fire Plan (NFP), the Healthy Forest Restoration Act (HFRA) and to document analysis done to support several years of completed and planned proactive hazardous fuels reduction work in the Keno area.
