The Nebraska Prescribed Fire Council was formed by landowners for the purpose of promoting the common good and general welfare for the people in Nebraska by educating, training, and practicing safe prescribed burn techniques that reduce or eliminate invasive species and fuel load build-up in open spaces, providing fire protection and/or prevention from wild or unexpected fires in and near these open places.

Farm Bill Wildlife Biologists are available to work one-on-one with landowners in Nebraska to help them enroll in conservation programs. These positions are part of a unique partnership with Pheasants Forever, the Nebraska Game & Parks Commission and the Natural Resources Conservation Service.

A non-profit membership organization, Prairie Plains preserves, maintains and restores native prairies and wetlands on its own land and on other private and public lands.
