Integrating Bird Conservation into Range Management

This manual is designed to assist resource professionals with integrating birds and their habitat needs into range management and monitoring, and to train landowners and land managers to do the same.  This manual will help landowners document their lands’ contribution to birds, showing how wildlife habitat and grazing management are complementary. Such documentation may help landowners rank higher when applying for financial or technical assistance programs such as EQIP. Many prairie bird species are of high conservation concern but through voluntary, proactive efforts we hope to keep common birds common, reverse declining population trends, and keep management strategies within the hands of the owners and operators.
