Western Shasta Resource Conservation District

Mission
to collaborate with willing landowners, government agencies and other organizations to facilitate the conservation or restoration of western Shasta County’s natural resources.

The Western Shasta RCD, through a partnership with local, state and federal agencies, can help you with obtaining technical and financial assistance for improving or restoring your land. We have a convenient list showing what we offer on our printable Fee for Service document. You can also visit the Landowner Assistance page for more information.

Western Shasta RCD specializes in projects such as:

  • Fire and fuels reduction
  • Creating a defensible space around your home or other buildings
  • Erosion control and mitigation
  • Creating or improving wildlife habitats
  • Removing and controlling noxious weeds and other invasive plant species
  • Performing emergency services in the aftermath of fire or flood
  • As well as assisting with ag waivers for irrigation discharge.
