Proactive Conservation for Working Lands

West Texas Sub-office

We work with state, Federal, and private partners to provide technical assistance to manage migratory birds, restore nationally significant fisheries, protect listed species and conserve and restore wildlife habitat such as wetlands and native grasslands within a 60-county area that covers the Texas Panhandle to the South Plains.

The West Texas Sub-office is primarily responsible for working with private or non-federal landowners to restore or enhance fish and wildlife habitat through the Partners for Fish and Wildlife (PFW) Program. We partner with Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD), Natural Resources Conservation Service, Playa Lakes Joint Venture (PLJV) and private and non-federal landowners to conserve our Nation’s natural resources.
