West Box Elder Conservation District

The West Box Elder Conservation District's mission is to take available technical, financial, and educational resources, whatever their source, and coordinate them so they meet the needs of the local land user for conservation of soil, water, and natural resources.

The district is actively involved in approving conservation plans for local landowners' projects to maintain and improve soil and water quality on their ranches and farms.

Other activities the West Box Elder Conservation District is involved in includes:

  • Investigating and improving brush management methods.
  • Working with local officials on weed control issues in West Box Elder.
  • Supporting efforts for grasshopper control and emergency relief efforts for area farmers.
  • Identifying and addressing local natural resource concerns and solutions.
  • Providing educational conservation presentations and classroom materials at local schools.
  • Sponsor a poster contest to grade school students.
