Weiser River Soil Conservation District

The Weiser River Soil Conservation District was organized in 1941. Originally the Weiser River SCD included only the area in Washington County drained by the Weiser River. In 1971 the remaining area was annexed into the district.

Mission

  • Provide local leadership in the conservation development and productive use of soil, water and related resources.
  • Act as a catalyst to bring people and programs together.
  • Bring about a quality way of life, a quality resource base, and a quality environment.

The Weiser River TMDL Implementation Plan for Agriculture outlines an adaptive management approach for implementation of Best Management Practices (BMPs) on agricultural lands. The purpose of this plan is to initiate a focused effort toward achieving the water quality targets established in the Weiser River Watershed SBA and TMDL and associated addendums.
