Vinton Soil and Water Conservation District

Mission:
To promote the wise land-use management through technical and educational services in order to help people conserve and enhance the Natural Resources of Vinton County.

The Vinton Soil & Water Conservation District was formed in 1946, making it the 45th Soil & Water Conservation District formed in the state.   The Vinton SWCD was created to bring about conservation and development, with the wise use of Vinton counties vast natural resources in mind.  The Vinton SWCD is funded by the Vinton County Commissioners as well as the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.  A five member elected Board of Supervisors who serve three year terms govern the district.  To be eligible to serve on the Soil & Water Conservation District Board you must be at least 18 years old and reside in Vinton County.
