Valley Soil and Water Conservation District

The Valley Soil and Water Conservation District was organized in 1957. The total land and water area of the Valley SWCD is nearly 3,680 square miles, which is over 2.3 million acres. Approximately 2/3 of its privately and state owned land are woodlands.

Mission

  • Encourage cooperation among landowners, government agencies, private organizations and elected officials to improve natural resources thereby ensuring an adequate natural resource base for present and future generations.
  • Belief of knowledge, peer involvement, cooperation and incentives are the best methods to improve Soil and Water resources.
