Uintah Water Conservancy District

The Uintah Water Conservancy District was formed to operate and maintain the Vernal and Jensen Units, comprising Steinaker and Red Fleet Reservoirs and related distribution systems. Both of these units were built by the Bureau of Reclamation as part of the Central Utah Project.  The Vernal Unit provides 17,900 AF of supplemental irrigation water to the canal companies in the Ashley Valley annually, as well as 1,600 AF of M&I water.  The Jensen Unit provides 4,600 AF of supplemental irrigation water to irrigators and canal companies along Brush Creek and in the Jensen area annually, as well as up to 18,000 AF of M&I water to the Ashley Valley and Jensen areas.  The Uintah Water Conservancy District also provides technical, financial and/or operational support to projects intended to develop and/or local water resources.
