Summit Soil and Water Conservation District

Mission
To provide local leadership and technical assistance for innovative programs to conserve soil, improve water quality and enhance the natural resources of Summit County.

The Summit SWCD is a political subdivision of the State of Ohio, Department of Natural Resources, Division of Soil and Water Conservation.

Established in 1946, the District serves all of Summit County providing local leadership for soil and water resources conservation and water quality enhancement.

The policies and procedures of the Summit SWCD are established by a board of five supervisors who are elected by the landowners of Summit County. These volunteers serve three-year terms and conduct monthly business meetings which are open to the public.
