Stephenson County Soil and Water Conservation District

Mission
"Leading people to conserve, improve & sustain our natural resources and environment."

Technical Assistance
The District's main goal continues to be the protection and enhancement of our county's soil and water resources. The staff works closely with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to provide free resource conservation technical assistance to any interested individual or group. District staff routinely assist local producers with the planning and installation of conservation practices, as well as development of detailed soil and water conservation plans to promote long-term protection of whole farms.

Along with technical assistance the district will help you with developing conservation planning and implementing conservation practices with help from the state and federal agencies.  Check out state and federal funding and technical assistance programs in Illinois.
