The mission of the Southeast Oregon RC&D Council is to “Proactively conserve, develop, and promote responsible stewardship of the natural and economic resources through a network of local partnerships to ensure and complement viable communities in southeast Oregon.” The Southeast Oregon RC&D Council strongly believes that the RC&D program can be effectively utilized to improve resource conditions and the quality of life in Harney and Malheur Counties in Oregon. The RC&D program provides a mechanism through which broad initiatives and goals can be organized, communicated and implemented.
The authorization of the Southeast Oregon RC&D Council is vital to the endeavor of promoting responsible stewardship of the natural and economic resources through a network of local partnerships that ensure viable communities in southeast Oregon.
At this time, all of the management and activities of the council are handled by volunteers. Officers have been elected and committees are established.
