Smith River Alliance

The mission of the Smith River Alliance is to provide for the protection, restoration, and stewardship of natural resources in the Smith River watershed. The Smith is California’s only major un-dammed river. It's located in the northern most corner of California's Coast, in Del Norte County. Its natural flows, protected habitat and lack of significant hatchery influence combine to make the Smith the premier stronghold for wild salmon and steelhead in the state.
