Mission
to provide local leadership and the framework required to develop and carry out a plan of action for the conservation, development, and wise use of the resources within the RC&D area.

The Shawnee RC&D Area Inc. is the Southern Illinois arm of the National RC&D program. Begun as a federally funded project, supported by the USDA, RC&D councils are now supported by private donations, community grants, and partnership projects with State and Federal conservation agencies.

Serving the lower 16 counties of Illinois, SRCD focuses on the areas of environmental conservation, education and improvement.
