Quadra Island Conservancy and Stewardship Society

The Quadra Island Conservancy and Stewardship Society (QICSS) was formed in 1992 to purchase and protect the only private piece of property on Morte Lake.  A conservation covenant held by Nature Conservancy of Canada protects this property from any kind of development but does allow access through the property on the trail circling Morte Lake.  We consider ourselves as the stewards of the whole Morte Lake watershed.

Since 1992 QICSS has acquired covenants on three other Quadra properties and a covenant on Linnaea Farm, Cortez Island.  If you are interested in conservation issues in this region please contact us.
