Polk SWCD

The Polk Soil and Water Conservation District (Polk SWCD) was formed in April 1966.  The Polk SWCD mission is “To promote the wise use of natural resources in Polk County.” Each year the Board of Directors develop an Annual Work Plan to serve as an outline to follow when guiding the Directors, Employees, Committee’s, and partners in response to natural resource concerns. 

SWCD Goals

SWCD Goals are set forth in the Polk SWCD Annual Work Plan and Business Plan. The goals guide the Polk SWCD’s activities and programs. The Annual Work Plan serve as an outline for guiding its Directors, Employees, Committees, and Partners in response to natural resource concerns, internal and external practices, and other factors that influence courses of action.

Polk SWCD Goals

Offer technical assistance and conservation planning to resource owners and communities directed towards the conservation & wise use of Polk County natural resources including Ag Water Quality.
Provide education and outreach related to natural resource issues within Polk County
District operations will be effective, economical, and efficient to meet legal and grantor requirements.
