The University of California Cooperative Extension in Plumas and Sierra Counties is part of a statewide system that makes University of California research-based information available to local agencies, industries and the general public.  Backed by resources at the nine University California campuses, our educational programs use practical information to address community challenges focused on sustaining agricultural vitality, enhancing natural resources, youth and leadership development along with helping communities shape sound public policy.

Located at the Fairgrounds in Quincy the University of California Cooperative Extension programs operate through a unique partnership of Plumas and Sierra County Governments, the University of California, the Federal Government via the U.S. Department of Agriculture and private funds.  We assist individuals and organizations, conduct field research, publish newsletters, produce information for mass media and conduct a wide array of seminars, workshops and events.  Volunteers assist with the 4-H  Youth Development Program as well as providing resources for local research efforts.
