Paul Kloppenburg

The first place you can turn for advice about caring for your woodland is the local DNR forester. Each county in Wisconsin has a DNR forester available to assist and meet with you on your land for a property walk-through. Their role is to provide professional planning and technical advice to Wisconsin's woodland owners. DNR foresters:

  • have a broad understanding of the various programs availalbe to woodland owners including financial assistance programs
  • educate woodland owners about the value and benefit of forest management
  • build relationships with woodland owners and partners
  • connect woodland owners to professional service providers who can assist with implementing forest management activities
