Park County Firewise

The Park County Firewise program was initiated in 2011 from a USDA Forest Service Title III Firewise Communities Grant to the Park County Board of County Commissioners. The Board assigned the Grant to the Meeteetse Conservation District for implementation.

The Park County Community Wildfire Protection Plan developed by www.wytfs.com and approved by the PCCWPP operating group in 2008, identifies the Park County WUI and the associated communities at risk. The PCCWPP is the supporting document for implementing the Park County Firewise program. Expanding the program to the Big Horn Basin and the remaining Basin portion of Park County is also a goal of this program. The program funding is expected to last into 2018.
