Mid-America Monarch Conservation Strategy

Mid-America Monarch Conservation Strategy is designed to facilitate cohesive, coordinated, and effective conservation actions needed to sustain the eastern population of the monarch butterfly, including restoring, enhancing, and protecting habitat, and providing information, education, and conservation engagement opportunities to interested citizens.

Goals
To achieve habitat restoration and enhancement to support an average overwintering eastern monarch population in Mexico sufficient to sustain the eastern monarch population and to avoid a regulatory outcome or minimize its impacts (such as monarchs becoming listed under the Endangered Species Act).
