Livingston County Soil and Water Conservation District

The Livingston County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) was established in 1963. Landowners in this county recognized the need to have a way to voluntarily help private landowners address their soil erosion problems.  Our purpose is to provide education and technical assistance in the wise use and management of our natural resources.

Soil and water conservation districts are local people solving local problems. In most cases, regular board meetings are held monthly and are open to the public. Most districts also have an informational meeting in which generally the past year's accomplishments are reviewed, outstanding agricultural producers are recognized, and landowners from the county are invited to learn more about the various programs offered by the districts.
