The purpose of Texas AgriLife Extension in Kerr County is to educate residents in agriculture, environmental stewardship, youth and adult life skills, human capital and leadership, and community economic development.
We are committed to excellence and adhere to strong Extension principles including:
1. ensuring equal access to educational programs
2. valuing the principles of citizen and community involvement and volunteerism
3. emphasizing preventive education
4. evaluating programs and adapting accordingly and
5. promoting the concept of “helping people to help themselves.”
Texas AgriLife Extension in Kerr County educates residents on improving their health, safety, productivity, and well-being; improving environmental stewardship and natural resources; contributing to their economic security and prosperity; making residents responsible, productive, and self-motivated youth and adults.
Currently, Texas AgriLife Extension offers a variety of programs such as Master Gardeners, Better Living for Texans and 4-H — among others — to meet the diverse needs of its citizens.
Mission: To provide quality, relevant outreach and continuing education programs and services to the people of Kerr County. Extension brings the resources of Texas A&M University System to Kerr County.
