Illinois Audubon Society

The Illinois Audubon Society promotes the perpetuation and appreciation of native flora and fauna of Illinois and the habitats that support them. Fundamental to this end are the control of pollution, the conservation of energy and all natural resources, a sound ecological relationship between human populations and their environments, and the education and involvement of the public in such efforts.

The Illinois Audubon Society initiates, assists, and supports programs that promote public awareness, knowledge, appreciation and enjoyment of birds, other wildlife and wildlife habitats.  Our chapters offer many educational progarms and activities throughout the year and on-site at our Sanctuaries.

Knowledge leads to action. Our members understand the importance of preserving and restoring habitat. We encourage their participating in long-term monitoring activities that aid in the collection of species observations which help evaluate trends, conditions and help scientists make decisions regrading the management of lands and water.
