Proactive Conservation for Working Lands

The mission of the Howard County Soil and Water District is to provide leadership and education for protecting, enhancing and utilizing the soil and water of Howard County, Iowa.

Services Provided: 

• Provide information and technical assistance to plan and apply conservation systems on privately owned agricultural land
• Support restoration of wetlands, prairies and forest land
• Build partnerships to promote watershed projects and management
• Annual tree sale funding local programs and services
• Provide volunteer and internship opportunities
• Provide scholarship opportunities
• Provide educational services to the community, school and public
