Since 1989, HeartLands Conservancy has worked toward achieving our mission by focusing on three priority areas:

• Conserving land and water
• Building resilient communities
• Engaging people with nature

As of 2018, HeartLands Conservancy has preserved 9,000 acres of farmland and open space and invested more than $40 million in our region’s natural resources. We envision a future for southwestern Illinois where people, wildlife, and natural habitats thrive together because the community — private citizens, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies — has invested in the conservation of our natural places and resources.
