Jacob Moore, Owner and Manager of Forestate Growers, LLC, is a second-generation graduate of the University of Georgia’s Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources. He is also a practicing forester and serves as an appointed member of the Seven Rivers RC&D Council and the Seven Rivers RC&D Ag-Forestry Board.
Forestate Growers, LLC is the successor company of Deep South Growers in Douglas, Georgia. Deep South was operational for two decades and growers of containerized longleaf pines since the late 1990’s. Forestate Growers, LLC is a member of the Georgia, Florida and South Carolina Forestry Associations as well as The Longleaf Alliance.
At Forestate Growers, LLC our seeds are harvested from well-established pine stands. They are carefully sown into containers; successfully grown using proven methods; and selectively harvested for delivery. Our seedlings are grown in deep plug containers for adequate root system development. From sowing to harvesting they have received proper care including fertilization, hydration, fungicide treatments and constant monitoring. During harvest each seedling is hand selected to be boxed for orders. Our seedlings are only harvested when the landowner requests his order.
