Douglas Creek Conservation District

Mission
To assist and guide landowners and government land management agencies to encourage and promote the conservation and wise use of all of the natural reouces within the district.

A conservation district is a political subdivision of the state of Colorado governed by a board of supervisors elected at large from within the boundaries.  The boundaries were originally formed by landowners petitioning in to the district. They do not always follow county or watershed boundary lines. Each district holds regular, open meetings to direct the district's business.  A conservation supervisor is responsible for local conservation programs, just as elected county officials are responsible for county services or school district boards are responsible for education.
