Coeur d'Alene District Office

The Coeur d’Alene District, located in the northern panhandle of Idaho, manages approximately 230,000 acres of public land. The District encompasses 11 counties, bordering Canada to the north, Montana to the east, Washington to the west and stretching south through north central Idaho. The District is divided into two geographic areas including the Cottonwood (130,000 acres) and Coeur d’Alene (98,000 acres) Field Offices. The northern panhandle of Idaho is known for its abundant rivers and lakes, as well as the forested terrain. As such, water-based recreation activities and a robust forestry program are the two primary focus areas of the district. The Coeur d’Alene District is cooperatively managed with BLM’s Oregon-Washington Spokane District.
