Coachella Valley RCD

The Coachella Valley Resource Conservation District (CVRCD) promotes the wise use, conservation and protection of natural resources in the Coachella Valley and surrounding desert regions. Through research, education, partnership and on-site technical support, CVRCD helps public and private land owners and land managers voluntarily protect and sustainably use water, soil, air, animal, watershed and desert habitat resources.

CVRCD is an independent, non-regulatory, locally-governed special district that works in partnership with the Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) to provide Coachella Valley farmers, desert habitat managers, homeowners, landscape nursery managers, golf course superintendents and municipal land managers support with resource conservation issues such as:

  • Watershed protection and restoration
  • Wind and water erosion control
  • Desert habitat management
  • Soil salinity management
  • Soil reclamation planning
  • Conservation outreach and education
