Some conservation measures emphasized today include conservation tillage, brush control, irrigation water management, windbreaks, grazing management, use of crop residue, and irrigation system improvements.

- Encourage each landowner to put all land and water resources to the most beneficial use and treat each acre in accordance with its needs for protection and improvement.
- Make technical, financial and educational resources available and coordinate them to meet the needs of the local land manager with conservation of soil, water and related natural resources
