Clark County Land Conservation Department

Mission
to promote and assist in wise land use decisions that preserve, protect, and enhance the natural resources of Clark County.

The Land Conservation Department operates under the guidance of the Land Conservation Committee. The department is responsible for providing technical, planning, and financial assistance to landowners of Clark County in regards to soil and water conservation practices.

The department implements state and local conservation programs such as:

  • the Farmland Preservation Program,
  • the DNR Priority Watershed Program,
  • the Land and Water Resource Management Program,
  • the Animal Damage and Claims Program, and
  • the Animal Waste Management Ordinance.

It is the responsibility of the Land Conservation Department and Committee to ensure that the county's natural resources are conserved.
