Land uses in Carson County are “traditionally Texan”: wheat, corn, sorghums, soybeans, and cattle. Carson County lies 28 miles east of Amarillo. Government, farming, ranching, agribusiness with oil and gas production, and Pantex (a nuclear plant) are the major job sources.
