Proactive Conservation for Working Lands

California Rangeland Trust

Mission
To conserve California's working ranches that provide stewardship, open space, and natural habitat for future generations.

California Rangeland Trust preserves working landscapes in the state of California. We protect what matters by working with California ranching families to preserve our state’s rangeland, air and water quality, wildlife habitat, and local food supplies. Over the years, we’ve learned that once the land is converted to other uses, it doesn’t go back. These resources are too precious to lose. They are vital for our future. Together, we can support ranchers in protecting these invaluable resources for generations to come. The Rangeland Trust is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1998 when a group of forward-thinking cattlemen and cattlewomen came together to protect the stewardship, natural resources, and open spaces of California’s ranches.
