The SWCDs are leaders in delivering state water quality programs, water enhancement programs, and local conservation efforts that contribute to the Oregon Plan for Salmon and Watersheds. SWCDs also coordinate and partner with state and federal natural resource agencies, private organizations and local governments.

The SWCD program resides within the Natural Resources Policy Area of the Oregon Department of Agriculture and is governed by the Soil and Water Conservation Commission.

The Burnt River SWCD Monthly Meeting is the 1st Thursday of the month in Baker, Durkee or Hereford.
