Amador Resource Conservation District

The ARCD provides conservation technical assistance to agricultural products and individual landowners, initiates and carries-out community-wide conservation programs including programs in agricultural, watershed, and woodland resource management, habitat restoration, irrigation water management, fuels reduction, workshops, classes and scholarships to students pursuing a career in resource management

Mission
to promote natural resource conservation in our district through community education and to provide natural resource technical assistance to our constituents.

The district works in two ways; first, to give technical assistance to in individual landowners in planning and installing conservation practices; second, to initiate and carry-out community-wide conservation programs. District-wide programs cover the areas of:

  • Resource conservation planning and development
  • Agricultural resource management
  • Watershed management planning
  • Woodland management
  • Wildlife habitat management

Specific project areas include:

  • Habitat restoration projects,
  • Irrigation water management evaluations,
  • Education materials concerning storm water, trees, soil, etc.
  • Scholarships.
