DWR manages California's water resources, systems, and infrastructure, including the State Water Project (SWP), in a responsible, sustainable way.

The State Water Resources Control Board (the State Water Board) was created by the Legislature in 1967. The mission of the Water Board is to ensure the highest reasonable quality for waters of the State, while allocating those waters to achieve the optimum balance of beneficial uses.

The Sonoran Joint Venture (SJV) is a cooperatve, regional partnership that brings people together from both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border to conserve the unique habitats of the southwestern United States and northwestern Mexico for the benefit of birds, other wildlife, and people.

North Wind Resource Consulting provides environmental documentation and permitting (including natural and cultural resource surveys; wildlife and botanical expertise; National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) technical services; and environmental consultation such as Section 106 for cultural resources, Section 404 for wetlands, and Section 7 for endangered species); design and engineering services (including civil and mechanical, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and mapping capabilities; and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) services).

The Western Governors’ Association represents the Governors of 19 Western states and 3 U.S.-flag islands. The association is an instrument of the Governors for bipartisan policy development, information exchange and collective action on issues of critical importance to the Western United States.

The Monarch Conservation Science Partnership is a USGS led group of scientists, managers, and conservation organizations who perform science related to the conservation of monarch butterflies.
